Lionel Messi made his long-awaited return to competitive action on Saturday, coming off the bench for Inter Miami in an entertaining 2-2 Major League Soccer draw against Columbus Crew.

Messi nearly produced a dramatic winner during stoppage time. First, he guided a looping header inches wide before sending another effort over the crossbar as Columbus held firm for the draw.
