Rybakina outclasses Muchova to win Stuttgart Title

Elena Rybakina delivered a commanding performance to defeat Karolína Muchová 7-5, 6-1 and win the 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. The victory marks Rybakina’s 13th WTA singles title and, notably, the first time in her career she has successfully defended a title.

Breaking new ground in a unique career pattern

Rybakina’s career has been defined by variety. Her first 12 titles came at 12 different tournaments, a rare feat at the elite level of women’s tennis. That streak has now ended, as she returns to Stuttgart, where she also triumphed in 2024, to secure her first repeat title.

While the final itself was relatively straightforward, Rybakina’s path to the title was far from easy. She needed to dig deep in the quarterfinals, saving two match points in a dramatic three-hour battle against Leylah Fernandez.

From that moment on, however, the World No. 2 found another level, closing out both her semifinal and final in straight sets with authority.

Final decided by key first set shift

The opening set against Muchova was tightly contested, with both players trading games early on. At 5-5, Rybakina raised her intensity, breaking serve before confidently holding to take the set 7-5. That proved to be the turning point.

With momentum firmly on her side, she dominated the second set, racing through it 6-1 to seal the title in just 1 hour and 18 minutes.

Rybakina’s efficiency was once again on display:

  • Composed in crucial moments
  • Aggressive baseline play
  • Strong serving to close out games

Her ability to elevate when it mattered most separated her from Muchova, who had entered the final with a positive head-to-head record.

Ranking Points and Prize Money

As a WTA 500 event, the Stuttgart title brings significant rewards:

  • 500 ranking points for the champion
  • €161,310 in prize money for Rybakina
  • Finalist Muchova earns 325 points and €99,565

The result strengthens Rybakina’s position in both the WTA Rankings and the Race to the WTA Finals.

This latest triumph reinforces Rybakina’s consistency at the highest level. With three finals already in 2026, and now another title added, she continues to establish herself as one of the most reliable contenders on tour.
