Napoli 6-2 Aris: De Bruyne and Lucca shine in pre-season rout

Napoli ended their pre-season preparations in emphatic fashion, beating Aris Thessaloniki 6-2 with Kevin De Bruyne, Lorenzo Lucca and Scott McTominay among the goalscorers.

The victory was Napoli's final warm-up match before their Serie A campaign begins against Genoa on August 22.

Rrahmani gives Napoli the lead

Napoli opened the scoring through Amir Rrahmani, who produced a spectacular long-range finish to put Massimiliano Allegri's side ahead.

Aris responded through Uros Racic, who levelled the contest with a well-taken free-kick into the top corner. Napoli regained the advantage shortly before half-time when Scott McTominay converted from close range after Alisson Santos created the opportunity.

De Bruyne makes his mark

Kevin De Bruyne continued his impressive pre-season involvement by finding the net after coming on as a substitute.

The Belgian midfielder finished from Matteo Politano's cross at the back post, extending Napoli's lead and adding another attacking contribution to his preparations for the new season.

Lucca scores twice

Lorenzo Lucca then took centre stage. The striker scored twice in the space of 10 minutes, first sliding onto a loose ball before reacting quickest to the rebound after a De Bruyne effort struck the post.

His brace helped Napoli establish a commanding advantage and provided further encouragement ahead of the Serie A opener.

Racic completes his brace

Racic pulled another goal back for Aris with a powerful volley from outside the penalty area, completing his own brace.

Napoli, however, had the final say. De Bruyne scored again late in the match following a clever piece of play from Giovane to complete the scoring at 6-2.

Napoli's final pre-season test

The victory concludes Napoli's summer preparations with a convincing attacking display. The match also gave Allegri an opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the competitive campaign, with several of his attacking options finding the net.

Napoli now turn their attention to their Serie A opener against Genoa on August 22, when the result of their summer preparations will be put to a more serious test.
