Mike Brown appointed New York Knicks head coach
The New York Knicks have officially named Mike Brown as the franchise's new head coach, ending an extensive search process and handing one of the NBA's most experienced basketball minds the responsibility of leading the team into its next chapter.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the organization following its return to the NBA Finals, with expectations around the franchise rising significantly.
Knicks president Leon Rose highlighted Brown's championship background and leadership experience as major factors behind the decision.

During the Warriors' 2017 playoff run, Brown stepped in as acting head coach and guided the team to a flawless 12-0 record during Kerr's absence.

Brown also shares a strong connection with African basketball through his role as head coach of the Nigerian men's national team beginning in 2020. His involvement with Nigeria added another layer to a career already defined by international experience and leadership.
