The 2026/27 football campaign has officially kicked off, bringing another packed schedule featuring domestic league action, European competitions and major international tournaments across the globe.

For supporters planning the season ahead, here are the major dates that will define the next eleven months of football.

Four International Breaks
Unlike previous campaigns, clubs will pause for only four FIFA international windows. International breaks are scheduled for:
- September/October 2026
- November 2026
- March 2027
- June 2027
The reduction is intended to ease fixture congestion after the expanded World Cup.
Major International Tournaments
Several continental championships will interrupt club football during 2027.
AFC Asian Cup
January 7 – February 5, 2027
Africa Cup of Nations
June 19 – July 17, 2027
CONCACAF Gold Cup
June 18 – July 11, 2027
These tournaments are expected to see Premier League clubs temporarily lose key international players during the closing weeks of the domestic campaign and into the summer.
From August through June, supporters can look forward to another relentless schedule featuring:
- Premier League title race
- Promotion battles across the EFL
- UEFA Champions League knockout rounds
- FA Cup drama
- International football
- AFCON, Asian Cup and Gold Cup
With fewer international breaks but an equally demanding calendar, squad depth is once again expected to play a decisive role in determining success across domestic and European competitions.
For clubs competing on multiple fronts, the 2026/27 campaign promises another demanding test of consistency, fitness and quality.
