Tammy Abraham becomes only second player to win every UEFA club trophy

Aston Villa’s Europa League victory delivered more than silverware for the club; it also produced a landmark moment in European football history for Tammy Abraham.
The England striker has now become only the second footballer ever to win all of UEFA’s major active club competitions, joining an exclusive list previously occupied solely by Emerson Palmieri.
Villa’s commanding 3-0 victory over Freiburg in Istanbul completed the final chapter of Abraham’s remarkable European journey. Although the 28-year-old did not feature in the final itself, his contribution throughout the campaign ensured his name was added to yet another continental winners’ list.
For many players, collecting even one major European title defines a career. Abraham has now accumulated four.
His journey began at Chelsea, where he lifted both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2021 during one of the most successful periods of his career.
A move to AS Roma then added another chapter. Under José Mourinho, Abraham played an important role as Roma secured the UEFA Europa Conference League title, giving him a third European medal.
At that stage, his collection already appeared exceptional. However, the striker's route to completing the set was far from straightforward.
After a difficult spell in Italy and a loan move to Turkish football, questions emerged about whether the former Chelsea academy product could rediscover the consistency that had once made him one of England's brightest attacking prospects.
A January move to Aston Villa under Unai Emery offered a fresh opportunity. The impact was immediate.
Abraham announced himself with a winning goal during his early appearances and gradually became an important squad option as Villa balanced domestic ambitions with a deep European run. While his role may not always have involved regular starts, his experience and understanding of high-pressure knockout football added significant value.
A place in football history
Winning one European trophy can depend on timing. Winning all four requires something much more complex: success across different leagues, different systems, different managers and different phases of a career.
Abraham's UEFA collection now includes:
- Champions League (Chelsea – 2021)
- UEFA Super Cup (Chelsea – 2021)
- Europa Conference League (Roma)
- Europa League (Aston Villa)
Only Emerson Palmieri had previously achieved the feat.
For Abraham, this milestone adds another layer to a career that has often travelled an unconventional route. While much of football attention naturally falls on individual goals and statistics, moments like these underline a different measure of success, longevity, adaptability and consistently contributing to winning teams.
