Pelle Larsson lifts Miami Heat to NBA Summer League title

Tied at 118-118 with a "target score" of 120 for the win, Larsson drove to the basket and made a 10-foot jump shot over Scotty Pippen Jr, which bounced three times on the rim before going through the hoop for the win.
"Pelle really set the pace for us," Heat player development coach Dan Bisaccio said. "That's exactly what you expect from one of your draft picks, to step up and excel on both ends of the court."
Heat forward Josh Christopher led the team with 24 points, shooting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, earning him the Most Valuable Player title in the Summer League finals at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Summer League serves as a platform for new and young NBA players during the off-season, with scouts from all teams evaluating talent.
Miami center Kel'el Ware contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds, Alondes Williams scored 21 points, and Cole Swider added 19 points, making 5-of-8 shots from 3-point range.
Bisaccio praised the team, emphasizing their hard work and dedication from the beginning. He expressed his pride in their efforts.
Larsson, who was the 44th pick in the recent NBA Draft by Houston and later acquired by the Heat, played a crucial role in the game. He scored 16 points by making 7 out of 9 shots, with his final points being the most significant.
Larsson credited the coach for drawing up an effective play that they had practiced multiple times. He highlighted the danger posed by him and Kel'el in the pick and roll.
Jake LaRavia led Memphis with 32 points, while Scottie Pippen Jr. added 29 points and 11 assists. G.G. Jackson contributed 28 points for the Grizzlies.
Swider's 3-pointer gave Miami the lead with 19.6 seconds left, but Jackson tied the game with a 3-pointer.
Larsson acknowledged the importance of Cole's shot in the game.
Miami secured the victory in overtime with a Christopher 3-pointer, followed by LaRavia's corner 3-pointer to tie the game. Miami ultimately won the Summer League championship.
The NBA All-Summer League First Team featured players from Memphis, Miami, Houston, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jalen Wilson of Brooklyn was named the Summer League MVP for his impressive performance throughout the tournament.
