Leylah Fernandez has delivered a major statement at the 2026 Canadian Open, defeating fifth seed and reigning French Open champion Mirra Andreeva in straight sets to book her place in the last 16.

Fernandez now has an opportunity to build on the biggest win of her Canadian Open campaign.

The home favourite will discover her fourth-round opponent once Osaka and Mertens have completed their third-round match.
