Europe’s Top 10 Goal scorers of the 2024/25 Season

Currently, Kylian Mbappe is at the forefront, but he faces formidable challengers. The list of contenders includes prominent players such as Kane, Salah, and Lewandowski, alongside lesser-known talents like Mateo Retegui and Omar Marmoush, making this season's race for the top scorer title filled with excitement, unexpected twists, and exceptional goal-scoring prowess.

Kylian Mbappe – 29 Goals

Mbappe initially had a subdued beginning at Real Madrid but has since significantly improved his performance. He currently holds the title of the leading scorer in Europe's top leagues.

His recent hat-trick in the 4-3 defeat against Barcelona, along with goals scored against Mallorca and Sevilla, has positioned him favorably in the Golden Shoe competition. With one remaining match against Real Sociedad, it would not be surprising if he further increases his goal count.

Mohamed Salah – 28 Goals

Salah maintained the lead for a considerable portion of the season; however, he has encountered a scoring drought, netting only three goals in his last nine league appearances. Now in second place, the Liverpool forward has two matches remaining against Brighton and Crystal Palace and will require goals in both to have any chance of regaining the top position.

Harry Kane – 26 Goals

Kane has once again excelled in the Bundesliga, securing the Golden Boot for the second consecutive season. With a total of 26 goals and the league season concluded, his tally stands as final. It has been another exceptionally fruitful year for the England captain.

Robert Lewandowski – 25 Goals

Reunited with Hansi Flick at Barcelona, Lewandowski appeared rejuvenated at the start of the season. Although his goal-scoring has diminished in recent weeks, the Polish icon remains among Europe's top players with 25 goals. While a Golden Shoe this season seems improbable, his level of consistency is unparalleled.

Mateo Retegui – 24 Goals:

Following Gianluca Scamacca's season-ending ACL injury, there were concerns regarding Atalanta's offensive capabilities. However, Mateo Retegui has emerged as a key player. Acquired from Genoa, he has excelled, scoring 24 goals in 33 matches. With an average of one goal every 82.2 minutes, he has seamlessly integrated into Gian Piero Gasperini's flexible system, potentially fulfilling Italy's long-standing search for a top striker.

Alexander Isak – 23 Goals

Alexander Isak has scored 23 goals this season, marking a significant breakthrough for him at Newcastle. With 23 goals in 32 appearances in the Premier League, his impressive performance has revitalized the team's aspirations for a top-four finish and attracted interest from top European clubs. Given that his contract extends until 2028, a substantial offer would be necessary to persuade him to leave St. James' Park.

Ousmane Dembele – 21 Goals
Dembele is now fulfilling his immense potential. Under the guidance of Luis Enrique at PSG, he has been outstanding, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1, with 13 of those coming in just nine matches in 2025.

When considering his exceptional performances in the Champions League, he could very well be the most in-form player globally at this moment. Even with limited playing time, he maintains an impressive scoring rate of one goal every 79 minutes, the highest efficiency among the top ten players.

Omar Marmoush – 21 Goals

Following an impressive beginning to the season at Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush secured a £59 million transfer to Manchester City. He has already made his mark with a hat-trick against Newcastle and a goal against Brighton. Although City's season has not unfolded as expected, Marmoush appears to be one of the acquisitions capable of salvaging a top-four position.

Erling Haaland – 21 Goals

After an unprecedented debut season at Manchester City, which concluded with a treble and an impressive tally of 52 goals, Haaland continued his remarkable performance with 27 goals last season, securing the Premier League Golden Boot once again.

He commenced the 2024/25 season in his usual fashion, netting a goal against Chelsea, followed by consecutive hat-tricks against Ipswich and West Ham. However, injuries have hindered his progress, and surprisingly, the team has thrived in his absence. Consequently, his aspirations for the Golden Shoe have diminished... for the time being.

Patrik Schick – 21 Goals

Although he has only started 19 league matches for Bayer Leverkusen, Schick has proven to be exceptionally effective in scoring. He maintains an impressive goal-scoring rate of one goal every 80.3 minutes and has exceeded his expected goals (xG) by an outstanding 8.3. With his efficiency, precision, and understated excellence, Schick is undoubtedly a striker in peak condition.
