Arsenal Player Ratings vs Ipswich: Max Dowman stars as Gyokeres gets 2/10

Arsenal booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a convincing 4-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road, with teenage sensation Max Dowman stealing the show.

The 17-year-old scored twice, including a superb opening goal, while Noni Madueke and Mikel Merino also found the net as Arsenal raced into a four-goal lead.

Ipswich managed two late consolation goals through Anis Mehmeti and Chuba Akpom, but the damage had already been done. While several Arsenal players impressed, Viktor Gyokeres endured another difficult evening and was rated just 2/10 after struggling to influence the game.

Kepa Arrizabalaga — 6/10

Had very little to do for most of the evening but was beaten by Mehmeti after Arsenal had established a four-goal advantage. Will have been disappointed not to finish with a clean sheet.

Martin Zubimendi — 6/10

Adapted to a right-back role and looked comfortable for much of the match. His evening was slightly spoiled when Ipswich's Clarke got beyond him for the first goal, although his clever pass helped Dowman score his second.

Marli Salmon — 7/10

A promising outing from the young defender. Made an excellent goal-line block to deny Flemming and showed confidence carrying the ball into midfield. There were moments when he was caught out, but the potential was clear.

Gabriel — 7/10

Composed during his first-half appearance. He provided valuable guidance for Salmon and made an important challenge to prevent Philogene from getting a shot away.

Myles Lewis-Skelly — 7/10

Returned to left-back but regularly moved into midfield, where he helped Arsenal control possession. He finished the match with more touches than any other player and provided a steady presence.

Bruno Guimaraes — 8/10

An aggressive and influential display in midfield. His pressing played a direct role in Arsenal's second goal, while his passing consistently looked to move the team forward. He also assisted Merino's goal and strengthened his case for more Premier League involvement.

Mikel Merino — 9/10

The standout player alongside Dowman. Wearing the captain's armband, Merino dominated midfield, won his duels and produced a superb pass under pressure to create Madueke's goal. He capped the performance with a classy long-range finish.

Noni Madueke — 8/10

Looked dangerous throughout and showed good improvement in his decision-making. His finish for Arsenal's second goal was emphatic, while a clever turn and cross nearly created another goal for Gyokeres.

Max Dowman — 9/10

The star of the night. Dowman displayed remarkable composure for both goals, with his first particularly impressive as he left his marker behind before calmly finishing.

He looked fearless against a physical Ipswich side and repeatedly found ways to threaten their defence. A performance that underlined why Arsenal are so excited about his potential.

Eberechi Eze — 5/10

A quiet night for Eze. He struggled to match the intensity of those around him and found it difficult to make an impact from the left, particularly with Lewis-Skelly frequently moving into central areas.

Viktor Gyokeres — 2/10

A night to forget for the striker.

Gyokeres struggled to get involved and managed only one tame attempt. His movement did little to create space for himself, while his touch let him down when opportunities did arrive.

With Arsenal controlling the match for long periods, more was expected from their centre-forward.

Ezri Konsa — 5/10

Struggled to settle after coming on and was slow to react for both Ipswich goals. Also gave the ball away in a dangerous area.

Theo Julienne — 6/10

The 18-year-old provided a useful outlet after replacing Guimaraes and allowed Zubimendi to return to midfield. A solid cameo.

Christos Tzolis — 7/10

Looked eager to make an impact after coming on. Came close to scoring when he tested Walton at the near post.

Martin Odegaard — 6/10

Given a surprise cameo with Arsenal already 4-1 ahead. The captain helped Arsenal manage the final stages without needing to exert himself.
